The Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi has replied his Enugu State counterpart, Barr. Suilivan Chime that contrary to his insinuation, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) is Very much alive and kicking. Chime who took a swipe at the party on monday while receiving members of the South-East Zonal Working Committee, ZWC, of the
Peoples Democratic Party, led by the National Vice Chairman (South-East), Col Augustine Akobundu (rtd), who paid him a visit at the Government House, Enugu was quoted to have said that APGA has no chance of retaining the Anambra State Governorship seat after the reign of Peter Obi in 2014 and will also loose Imo State in the 2015 governorship election.
On his part, Obi speaking through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, said contrary to Chime’s declaration, APGA was very much alive and kicking.
He explained that APGA is a mass movement that would not die by mere pronouncement. “Just as the Mosaic Law was engraved in the hearts of the Jews, APGA is engraved in the hearts of our people,” Obi said. The governor dismissed the impression that there was a crisis in APGA, describing the recent altercations between the national leadership of his party and one of his former aides, Chief Sylvester Nwobu-Alor as “a normal disagreement in organisations peopled by the imperfect sons of Adam.”
In his words, “What we are witnessing is a minor misunderstanding which we will get over. People and organisations come out of such stronger and more promising and such will be APGA.” He submitted.
