After watching this Wedding Reception/Party In Nigeria, this is my take:
This is why money has no value in Nigeria and the Naira currency continues to depreciate at an alarming rate against other currencies.
When you have a nation of people who stamped, stepped and sprayed money like it is a toilet paper, very soon that currency would become valueless.
The public display of fake richness is one of the reasons so many people are involved in criminal activities.
The poor youths at these gatherings leaves with the determination to make money at all costs either legal or illegal.
The ones that squandered conspicuously leaves with the determination to recoup by all means necessary including bribery, robbery, corruption or other illegal means.
Money is called a rare commodity for a reason. It is not to be treated with disrespect or as a free and common commodity.
When you disrespect money, it would leave you and go to those who cherish her.
Therefore, when IMF and the World Bank insist that Nigeria should devalue its Naira, they are only demanding what Nigerians have already done to their currency.
They have devalued it internally.
