The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has formally thrown its weight behind the candidature of Edo State Governor and gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole in the July 14 governorship election.
This development was made public by CPC's National Chairman, Dr. Tony Momoh in a chat with newsmen in Abuja on sunday. Momoh explained that such alliance becomes important in the view of assisting Oshiomhole get re-elected for continuation of the good work that he has been doing in the past three years.
The CPC boss noted that Oshiomhole had by all standard done better than his predecessors in terms of providing basic needs such as health care and good roads, adding than his giant strides in the area of providing qualitative education, potable water supply and food security among others are unrivaled.
"Oshiomhole is doing a lot of work in every part of Edo state, he has largely uplifted the state's integrity and values for the people to enjoy the dividends of democracy. With this, we are going to cooperate with ACN in Edo State. Apart from the state level, the ACN and CPC are also moving towards an alliance and I believe we will eventually merge to actualise good governance in the country", he said.
