FG disburses N2b to new Universities

The Federal Government has approved the disbursement of a sum of N2billion, to all the recently approved Universities through the Ministry of Education. This is to hasten up the completion of projects in the campuses in preparation for the commencement of academic activities. Making the announcement on Friday during an
inspection tour of the temporary site of the Federal University , Dutsinma in Katsina State, the honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa'i revealed that President Goodluck was happy at the level of work done in all the new universities, adding that the funds were to ensure that priority infrastructure were put in place to quick take-off.
Rufai, while moving round the school premises, noted that while the level of work done so far is commendable, some minor works needs to be fixed before normal academic activities begins.
She stressed that the new universities were established as part of the government's resolve to give qualitative education to Nigerians.
In his remark, the Institution's Vice chancellor, Prof. James Ayatse, told the Minister that a total of 131 academic Staff and 61 non academic Staff has so far been hired.
He therefore conducted the minister round the newly acquired facilities of the School.
