Lawan Bribery Scandal: Police to arrest Lawyer for accusing Emeka Ihedioha of complicity

Recall that three weeks ago, the Public Interest Lawyers Leaague (PILL) made a public call for the arrest of Deputy Speaker  of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha and followed its call by presenting petitions to the Special Task Force of the

Nigeria Police Force and the Privileges Committee of the House of Representatives investigating the FaroukGate bribe scandal.

Today 24th July 2012, two police officers, led by DSP Oziegbe at the Abuja office of PILL with a letter (hereby attached) inviting the president of PILL, Abdul Mahmud, ESQ to appear before X Squad of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department, FCID. Unfortunately, the President of PILL, Abdul Mahmud was away from office and he is presently attending conferences  in the UK; but he however taken urgent steps to communicate with the leadership  of the Nigeria Police Force on PILL's position on the bribe saga that had rocked the House of Representatives.

Once again, we reinstate our position on the resignation of Emeka Ihedioha, a position we have consistently maintained; and we call on him to make public  all he knew as they related to the conversation he had with Farouk Lawan on April 23rd  2012 shortly before the commencement on the  plenary debate on the Fuel Subsidy Report.

Thanks.

Abdul Mahmud
