Why Godswill Akpabio Ordered the Killing of Barrister Efanga's Mother and His Brother

It is now a common knowledge among the people of Akwa Ibom State that whenever Godswill Akpabio gives order for his agents to kill those he wants to eliminate, he will leave Akwa Ibom State to Abuja, Lagos, or fly out of the country. When General Akpan was kidnapped, while worshipping in a church, Akpabio was out

of Akwa Ibom State and as it turned out, eventually, people came to find out that it was Akpabio who ordered the kidnapping of General Akpan. The same thing happened when Chief Paul Inyang was killed, when Mamma Udonwa was murdered, and even when Comfort Ewang was kidnapped; the list seems endless. 

This past weekend, Godswill Akpabio played yet another of his diabolical game; he ordered the murder of the mother and the brother of Barrister Francis Efanga. While this mother and son were being killed in a coward style, Akpabio was enjoying and spending the people’s money and fraternizing with prostitutes in Houston, Texas.

As I write, Akpabio is still here in the United States, working the

phone---sending instructions to his killers in Akwa Ibom State for

them to kill those whom, in his sick mind, he considers as his

enemies. Because of the clamp-down on the media, many people are not

even aware of the daily killings, which is going on in Akwa Ibom State

on the orders of Godswill Akpabio.

Akpabio’s gripes with Barrister Francis Efanga are that the young

attorney has successfully been defending Senator Akpan Udoedehe

against the madness of Godswill Akpabio and has also been bold to

condemn the ineffectiveness and the  wasteful spending of the people's

money which Akpabio regards as government policies.

In late 2010, when the heat for the gubernatorial election was

searing, Akpabio lied to federal authorities that Barrister Efanga was

planning to subvert the federal government. At that time, no one

outside his inner-circle knew that Akpabio had manufactured fake and

dubious documents as evidence, which he tendered to the Presidency,

the SSS, and the Police in support of his claims. The fake documents

looked authentic and so convincing that eventually in March of 2011,

Barrister Francis Efanga was arrested, locked up, and charged with

“sedition” and “malicious falsehood” against the President.

The case went to trial and was adjourned several times. Finally, it

was dismissed entirely for lack of evidence. As a condition for his

release, Akpabio bribed the judiciary to issue an order which banned

Barrister Efanga from visiting his own village in Ibiono Local

Government Area, which is just a few miles to Uyo, the State capital.

Francis Efanga thought the dismissal of the case would end the warped

mind of Akpabio over him. Efanga was wrong, dead wrong!

Last weekend, while Akpabio was enjoying with his prostitutes in

Houston, Texas, he gave the green button for Efanga’s mother and his

brother to be killed. Several days after they were murdered in cold

blood, relatives found the mutilated bodies of Efanga’s mother and

that of his brother, who was visiting his mother at the time, inside

the home, already in a state of decomposition.

And everyone is now asking why? Even Barrister Efanga himself cannot

understand the madness. Contacted at his home in Nigeria by this

writer, Efanga seemed lost of words. All he could muster the energy to

say was “Honestly, I cannot tell you who killed my mother and brother,

but I will find them. The police and the SSS are working on the case

and I will wait for them to complete their investigations.”
