As the neglect of Okpe Kingdom by the Delta State government continues, Okpe leaders are debating how best to take on some officials of the government on abandoned projects in the kingdom. The leaders are expected to discuss the abandoned Sapele Market, uncompleted Sapele Stadium, burnt Orodje Market and Sapele Polytechnic project.
The Secretary General of Okpe Union Worldwide, Mr. Henry Ebireri in a statement issued in Lagos Sunday said the leaders are working together on detailed plans to address the challenges of the kingdom.
On the agenda for leaders attending the meeting in Lagos, Ebireri said the abandoned Okuodede- Ugborhen road, flood occasioned by downpour in Sapele, return of public schools in Okpe land to missions and poor roads in Okpe kingdom would also be discussed.
"Our number-one goal is to address the poor state of development in Okpe kingdom. We have very important responsibilities and roles to play so we are going to be setting up a working group to monitor contractors in-charge of projects in Okpe kingdom." Ebireri said.
