2019: Durotoye Beats Moghalu, Sowore To Emerge PACT Candidate


Mr. Fela Durotoye has emerged as the consensus candidate for the Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) for the 2019 presidential election.

Mr. Durotoye, a motivational speaker and businessman, beat the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu and the publisher of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore to emerge.

The 11 Presidential aspirants in the first stage of the process that voted for any one of their 10 co-aspirants are:

  1. Kingsley Moghalu
  2. Thomas-Wilson Ikubese
  3. Fela Durotoye
  4. Sina Fagbenro-Byron
  5. Mathias Tsado
  6. Ayodele Favor Oluwamuyiwa
  7. Victor Ani-Laju
  8. Godstime Sidney Iroabuchi
  9. Clement Jimbo
  10. Elishama Ideh
  11. Felix Nicholas

Mr. Nicholas Felix, however, withdrew while the event was in progress.

The “election” took place at Chelsea Hotel, Abuja, during the party’s meeting on Thursday.

The event saw the former Minister of Education, Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili present as observer.

Confirming the development, Mrs. Ezekwesili, in a series of tweets on her Twitter handle, hailed the emergence of Durotoye.
