2020 Anambra Appropriation Bill: Rep Commends Assembly For Early Passage

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), Chief Dozie Nwankwo has commended the Anambra State House of Assembly for its early passage of the 2020 Appropriation Bill into law.
The Appropriation which was presented by Gov Willie Obiano last month totaled one hundred and thirty seven point one billion Naira(N137Bn).
Chief Nwankwo of the House of Representatives who was out of the country when the bill was passed into law, in his goodwill message noted that the seventh Assembly has just set a pace by being the first state House of Assembly in Nigeria to pass the 2020 appropriation bill into law.
The passage of the bill was sequel to the motion moved by the Majority Leader, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor which was seconded by another member- Ebele Ejiofor.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Chief Obinna Emeneka while presenting the report explained that adjustments were made in the bill by reducing budgetary allocations to some ministries, while increment were was made in some critical sectors in order to meet the needs of the people of the state in 2020.
Speaker, Mr Uche Okafor commended all the committees and members who worked tirelessly on the bill, especially the Finance and Appropriation Committee for a thorough exercise.
The Speaker noted that the prompt passage of the 2020 appropriation was in line with the resolve of the Assembly to continue to work towards improving the living standard of Ndi Anambra as well as the growth and development of the state.
He noted that the content of the budget was rich, development driven, designed for the good governance of the state.
