Former National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Alhaji Mahmud Waziri, 73, is dead. He died in Medina and was buried there yesterday.
The Second republic Senator was former Special Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Inter Party Affairs.
He was a member of the Constituent Assembly in 1997; and in 1999, he was elected a Senator on the platform of the Great Nigeria Peoples Party (GNPP), which he co-formed with Ibrahim Waziri and others.
In the third republic, Waziri, founding Executive Director of the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) was a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He was also a successful businessman and chairman of defunct Nigerbrass Shipping Line .
