Bomb scare at Jos Court

Sittings at the Plateau State High Court were yesterday shelved due to a rumour that a bomb had been planted within the premises of the court. all cases were cancelled and the bomb squad were called in according our correspondent  who visited the court premises.

He also observed that except for the two armed mobile police men, who were guarding the place, the area was deserted.

A court staff, who craved anonymity, said, “It is not as if they planted a bomb in the premises. The issue is that there was threat of a bomb attack.”

Reacting, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muhammed Lerama, said there was no cause for alarm, adding that the anti-bomb squad combed the area and there was no bomb there.

Lerama, who added that other strategic places had also been checked for bombs, urged the people to go about their normal businesses.
