The Economic and Fi-nancial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is fuming over the failure of the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Mr. Niyi Ajiboye, to produce the members allegedly involved in the Rural Electrification scam.
A source at the EFCC said the commission had written the Clerk, requesting him to produce the Chairman of the House Committee on Power, Mr Ndudi Elumelu, his deputy, Mr Ahmed Jibo, and Mr Paulinus Igwe, Chairman of the House Committee on Rural Electrification.
The source said that Mr Ajiboye had promised the EFCC that he would produce the trio last Thursday but that they did show up.
Thereafter, he pleaded that the Reps be given one day more to enable them appear on Friday, but that they still failed to appear.
According to the source, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Power, Dr. Abdullahi Aliyu who has been taken into custody has been singing.
He said the commission would be left with no option than to take a more drastic measure against the law makers should the three Reps fail to turn up to say all they know about the scam.
The movement of huge sums of money had triggered the alert from where preliminary investigations were instituted which unearthed the alleged fraudulent deals.
