AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted a Eureka man who allegedly sent a letter threatening to kill President Barack Obama.
According to court documents, 54-year-old Roger Hudnall wrote, “I will kill the president,” in a letter mailed on Jan. 7, 2009.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Hudnall was charged Wednesday with making threats against the president.
Hudnall previously served federal prison time for mailing a letter containing white powder to the FBI’s San Francisco office in 2002.
The letter, which threatened to kill two people, had the return address of his former landlord who had evicted him.
The white substance turned out to be baby powder.
Hudnall later admitted sending the letter to scare the landlord and get her in trouble with the FBI.
