An explosion rocked a Delta State government operated guest house in the state capital wednesday. “At about 3pm this afternoon there was an explosion at the Asaba Guest House Asaba, a commercial outfit of the Delta State Government located near the Government House.” The state’s spokesman, Sunny Ogefere said in a statement to the media.

In March 2010 The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) claimed responsibility for two bomb explosions that rocked venue of the Post-Amnesty Dialogue in Warri, Delta State. The group said its action was informed by Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s statement which referred to its group as “a creation of the media.”
