Gov. Obi on Sunday held a meeting with the new leadership of Anambra people in America, whose newly elected president is Prof. Allison Anadi. The meeting which took place at the Crown Plaza Hotel O’Hare, Chicago shortly before the governor left America for Nigeria, also has in attendance the immediate past President, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, the new Vice President, Mr. Primus Odili and Mr Tony Idigo.
The strategic meeting, according to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Mike Udah was called at the instance of the Governor, whom he said thanked the past leadership represented by Dr. Anakwenze and congratulated the new one led by Mr. Allison Anadi. The Governor, in a statement made available by Udah took the opportunity to call on the new leadership to always focus their mind on what should be of interest to the progress and development of Anambra State.
Gov. Obi and the ASA USA took the opportunity to review the activities of ASA USA over the years and called on them to intensify efforts towards the good of the State. In his words: “We are all from Anambra State. Once Anambra is good it will be to the benefit of all of us. Whist I thank you people for your contributions to the State, I would want the people of Anambra in Diaspora to organize themselves in a manner they will contribute more efficiently to the development of the State. We worked very well with Dr. Anakwenze and I will want the present leadership to build on the foundations he has already laid.”
Responding, Dr. Anadi assured the Governor that the Association would continue in its efforts to serve the people of the State. He said that very soon they would visit home to have a holistic view of Gov. Obi’s development blueprint for the Association to know how to contribute. He said that Anambta people were proud of Obi and that any patriotic Anambrarian who desired the good of the State would naturally key into his developmental efforts in the State
