Is Yar’adua Alive?

Umaru Yar'aduaFrom what I have read so far, Nigeria commentators have missed the real import of Turai Yar’adua’s latest desperate ploy to sell the propaganda that her husband is on the cusp of recovering enough to take back power which is that President Umaru Yar’adua is brain dead.

The Chief Imam of the Abuja National Mosque Ustaz Musa Mohammed told newsmen after the Friday prayers that he actually met Yar’adua on Tuesday and Thursday in the company of Three other Islamic clerics – leader of

the Izala Muslim sect in Katsina State, Sheik Yakubu Musa; Sheik Isa Pantami; and the President of the Supreme Council of Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN), Sheik Ibrahim Datti Ahmed in Aso Rock.

According to the Chief Imam of the Abuja National Mosque Ustaz Musa Mohammed, President Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s health condition is nowhere as bad as people are saying.

But reading through the lines of his statement, Looks like the clerics who claimed to have seen Yar’Adua lied. Latest reports indicate they were at the Villa alright and even washed their hands and faces with Dettol to kill germs but Tilde decided that they could not see him.

They saw Turai and together conspired to tell that story mainly to “rattle Goodluck”, delay the swearing of the new cabinet and cause national divisions along sectarian and regional lines. They have been hired to plan demonstrations after Friday prayers next week.

How can we prove that the so called Yaradua is still alive. This could be a divisive plot by the northern Turkks to hold on to power till the end of the administration. How are we sure that even the so called Goodluck is not aware that his boss is not alive. Why on earth will a man that is alive according to the Alfas and Imams seat in a conner when his structures are been dismantled by his assistant. We need to think deep and try to understand the current level of politics that is devilishly being invoked in the country.

There is need for vigilance. More ridiculous is a half-baked justification of the Islamic clerics visit in an article written by one Nura Manu – a Yuguda acolyte and Yar’Adua apologist which was posted on Facebook and reproduced on Sahararreporters…. .wait for more revelations and confessions in the next few days.

The four men have thus became tools in Turai’s latest game plan that included her sponsorship of a syndicated story that appeared in the Daily Trust and Thisday newspapers. Even though the two newspapers have different owners and pools of reporters, a careful reading of their reports shows that the same reporter wrote their latest reports on Yar’adua’s ostensible recovery.

What does this show? Simply that Both Daily Trust and Thisday have been reliable outlets for Mrs. Turai Yar’adua’s deceptive manoeuvres.

I will give this to the clerics though; they were careful not to say that Yar’adua spoke to them. Unlike one guy that claimed to be Yar’adua’s cousin that told Al-Jazeera that Yar’adua turned around from speaking to the Birds in Aso Villa Garden to ask after the welfare of the members of his family.

When the chief Imam was asked whether they had any discussion with the President, Ustaz Musa said that was not their mission to the Villa. He said he and the three others had sought to see the President only to pray for his full recovery so that he can resume office soonest.

According to the Chief Imam, when they arrived at the residence, they were promptly ushered in to see Yar’adua, and that they found him seated alongside his wife, Hajia Turai, with his Aide-de-Camp [ADC] standing to his left. Uztaz Mohamed said when they approached; President Yar’adua extended his hand and shook each one of them.

He said they then sat down and raised their hands to offer prayers for his recovery, and that Yar’adua also raised his hands and prayed along with them. When the prayers ended, he said, they rose to leave and Yar’adua again extended his hand and shook each one of them.

Another interesting point from these tales by moonlight is that Acting President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had no knowledge of President Yar‘Adua‘s reported meeting with some clerics, close friends and political associates in the Presidential Villa.

Rather, reports say the Acting President got wind of the reported meeting from media reports. The Acting President through Ima Niboro insisted as recently as yesterday that he has yet to see Yar’Adua since he returned to the country.

How could Yar’adua bypass his deputy and his stand-in to allegedly see a businessman reputed to be one of his best friends, Alhaji Dahiru Manga; a member of the House of Representatives representing the Faskari Constituency, Alhaji Inuwa Shehu; and Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State, who is also his son-in-law plus the four Islamic clerics, namely, the Chief Imam of the Abuja National Mosque, Ustaz Musa Mohammed; leader of the Izala Muslim sect in Katsina State, Sheik Yakubu Musa; Sheikh Isa Pantami; and the President of the Supreme Council of Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN), Sheikh Ibrahim Datti Ahmed.

A British Broadcasting Corporation report quoted Ustaz Mohammed as saying that Yar‘Adua sat next to his wife, Turai and shook hands with the clerics, but he could not talk.

If the reported meeting was arranged by the Yar‘Adua camp as”a sort of public confidence building measure to assure Nigerians that the President is in the Presidential Villa and recovering, I think it has failed because what has conclusively been proved that is that President Umaru Yar’Adua is seriously brain damaged, is not able to recognise anyone, including his wife Turai, cannot speak and can no longer perform the functions of the office of the president.

Even the president’s closest and most powerful aides have accepted that Mr. Yar’Adua may never return as president, they are merely trying to stop the Acting President from exercising too much power.

The people working frantically to keep up this ruse, including Mrs Turai, her cohorts and the Imams have also gone to great lengths to deceive the public, by claiming they have spoken to a president who is unable to speak and has lost all powers of cognition.

Another truth self evident from the latest charade is that Yar’Adua’s handlers are the most provincial, congenitally incompetent and audacious retards that ever assembled in the villa.

What level of thought is available to these fools? A President has disappeared for half a year and the best they could do is some pliable Imam talking some tales by the moonlight at Jumat and some brainless buffoon concocting a useless interview with him in a hotel.

And instead of a doctor’s report it is on the Marabouts note we are to rely on now for when Yar’Adua will return. This babbons think we are back to the Stone Age?

Methinks the time has come when we should stop glorifying sycophants with the benefit of white space to air their bullshit. I am tired of all this “hear say” information as the only way for the electorate to hear about a president they “voted” into office.

Nigeria is one of the few democratic countries where meetings and visits with the president are reported after the fact. Why could the members of the fourth estate not have been invited to and present to cover this purported visit? Is it just that the president in a “not camera ready” physical condition, or there are some contents of the discussion, if there was any, that is not for mass consumption?

Fellow Nigerians, your president is dead!
