Kidnapped Adamawa labour leader’s daughter regains freedom

The kidnapped 3 and half years old daughter of the Adamawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) leader, Aisha Buba Dauda has been set free after one week in captivity. She regained her freedom, weekend, after the parents met the demand of the abductors. Father of the girl, Mr. Dauda Buba told newsmen in Yola that an unknown caller rang him in the early hours of Saturday and

asked that he should go to Michika General Hospital to pick his daughter.

According to him, on receiving the call, he liaised with his colleagues in the labour movement in Michika, which is about three hours drive from Yola, to confirm whether there is a little girl in the hospital and her description.He added that on reaching the hospital, his emissaries were told that the girl was handed over to the police for safe custody.

“After identification of my daughter at Michika Police Station, I pleaded with the police to hand her over to my colleagues pending my arrival,” he said.
