The Times of Nigeria can reveal authoritatively that Yayale’s cornering of the Nigeria 50 Project to his office among other things has drawn the anger of the first lady.
The Nigeria 50 project is meant to celebrate Nigeria’s 50th independence anniversary next year and proposals have flooded the first lady’s office.
At the point the first lady tried to get traction on the initiative and seek for funds, she was shocked to learn that the office of the SGF already has the full mandate to handle everything related to the project. It was further learnt that the Ministry of Information and Communications which ought to be in the driving seat has been equally sidelined.
Sources confirmed that Prof. Dora Akunyili, the information minister after comparing notes with the first lady decided to just leave Yayale alone to handle it all. But apparently the first lady is not letting matters stay that way. She wants to find out why all the monies must go to the SGF’s office.
