Yar’Adua flags off joint military exercise in Ondo

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on Monday flaged off the Joint Military Operation Exercise (JOPEX 2009) codenamed Ologun Meta holding at Orioke Iwamimo in Ilaje local government area of the state. Yar’Adua said his administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of members of the joint Armed forces, expressing its importance to the protection of territorial integrity of the country and stressing that the entire nation depended on the Armed Forces to protect it against any external aggressors. He said the annual military exercise would assist in sharpening the skills of its personnel urging them to always live up to expectation. He was received at the Akure Airport shortly after his Nigerian Air Force plane (5N-FGT) touched down at exactly 9:35 am by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.
