A 24-year-old man, Raji Ismaila, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court, for allegedly stealing a Samsung phone worth N250,000 and N550,000 in cash.
The police charged Ismaila with conspiracy, breach of peace and theft, under sections 411, 168 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police prosecutor, ASP Benson Emuerhi, told the court that Ismaila, with some persons still at large, committed the offence on Dec. 10, 2020 at Ijaiye, Abeokuta Expressway, Alagbado, Lagos.
Emuerhi said the accused stole the Samsung lite Note 10 phone valued at N250,000 and N550,000 cash, all belonging to one Kazeem Adeleye.
Chief Magistrate, J.A. Adegun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum, while adjourning the case to Feb. 11, for further hearing. (NAN)
