2nd Niger Bridge to gulp 68,000 tonnes of cement – Fashola
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has disclosed that the second Niger Bridge will gulp at least 68 tonnes of cement, 19 litres of diesel and four million cubic tonnes of sand.
Fashola stated this during a town hall meeting with host communities and stakeholders of Second Niger Bridge.
He urged agitating persons in the area to think about the economic benefits of the project to them.
Fashola who said some grounds on the job had been lost owing to conflicts resulting from compensation, said the project would cost the Federal Government N414bn.
He said while the bridge alone would cost N206bn, ancillary roads linking the bridge would cost about N208bn.
He said beyond the bridge and the roads, the materials needed for the construction were big economic empowerment for host communities and people of the two states of Anambra and Delta.
