2nd Tenure: Oshiomhole’s Commissioner Blasts Buhari

Dr. Kassim Afegbua, former Commissioner of Information in Edo State under the administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and spokesman to Ex-military President Gen. (rtd) Ibrahim Babangida has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari over the recent announcement that he will seek a second term in office.

In a widely circulated memo made available to ElombahNews, Dr. Afegbua wrote:

“I have said before now that politics has no morality and the idea of integrity is just on the lips of political gladiators but never from their hearts.

PMB [President Buhari] said in 2011 he would only need to serve one term. It was widely publicised.

“That’s a statement from a man who sees integrity as his second nature especially by his supporters.

“In 2018, serving his first term, he has declared his intention to seek re-election. He will be 77 next year.

“For a man of supposed integrity to eat his words barely 7 years after is a mark of crass inconsistency. It takes away a lot from his integrity claim.

“My position that there is no integrity in politics suffices, and that includes PMB [Buhari].

“Truth is also a sacrilege in politics while morality is a sin. In a country of sins without sinners, we all are the same, So no man should preach integrity and morality to me.

“Preach to me other selling tips.”

Reacting to Afegbua’s scathing assertions, an analyst with ElombahNews noted:

“After 3 years of flagrant disregard for the rule of law, abuse of Human Rights, nepotism, extra-judicial killings, paralyzed economy, increased unemployment/poverty/hunger, corruption and impunity, President Buhari declares to run for a 2nd term.

“We are watching!

“A man who prided himself as the messiah that would perform magic as President. A man who made promises to make the dollar equal to one Naira.

“A man who promised millions of jobs for the unemployed. A man who promised to eradicate corruption in the country.

“Instead of conquering Boko Haram as promised, the Buhari-led administration has been negotiating with world-class terrorists.

“He flies to developed countries to access medical care that is funded with tax payer’s money, people who die due to poor medical care.

“A man whose government cannot boast of any meaningful developmental project it initiated, started and completed in 3 years.

“A man who has succeeded in further dividing us along ethnic lines than uniting us.

“A man whose government is full of lies, hypocrisy  and complete disregard for the electorate has boldly declared his intention to rule us again!

“This is a slap on us as a nation. This man thinks little of us.

“The best way to respond to this shameless re-election bid however, is to get our PVCs; to come out in large numbers to vote him out.

“To exercise our might and power as the electorate.

“Let’s say No!”
