The sad story of Aliyah, a young christian girl, the last born of 7 children and the only daughter of a widow occurred on the 30th August 2020. On that fateful day she went to church but never returned home. The mother, worried that her daughter did not come home, then reported the incident to the police at Soba Local Government Area in Kaduna State.
On Tuesday 1/9/2020, the police called to inform her that the girl was with them in the police station, she should come over. When the mother got there, unknown to her, Aliyah had been forced to convert to Islam. Aliyah completely denied knowing the mother. Nevertheless, the mother demanded for release of her daughter. The DPO refused to grant this request but rather returned Aliyah to the muslim abductors and later transferred the case to Zaria Area Command.
All efforts made by the girl’s mother and members of the Church to have the girl return back to her mother could not yield a positive result.
The police Area command on Monday 7th September 2020, at about 4 pm, transferred the case to the police Headquarters Kaduna under the guise that the Case has become an interfaith issue.
The mother, lawyers, and Christian body have tried to intervene since 7th of September but the police have unlawfully detained her to be presented to the Interfaith Committee in Kaduna State headed by a moslem Director General
As prayer intensified, the girl has partially realised herself and is now crying and pleading with the police to release her to go back home. Dispite of her cry, the police have insisted on this unlawfully detention to achieve the wish of her abductors, to islamize the young Christian girl, who is still a minor.
We covet your prayers for her release and plead with the general public, civil organizations, Human right activists and all well meaning Nigerians at home and abroad, to come to the aid of this young girl
