The absence of five alleged masterminds of Nyanya and Kuje, Abuja, bomb attacks stalled hearing in the matter at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday.
The prosecution told the court that prison officials could not bring the suspects to court because of logistic problems.
The five suspects are standing trial on five counts bordering on conspiracy and terrorism.
The accused persons are AbdulAzeez Muhazab, Ishaka Salihu, Mohammed Jimoh, Abdulwaheed Nasiru and Abdullahi Nasiru.
At the resumed hearing of the case, the prosecution counsel, Mr Mohammed Diri, expressed disappointment over the inability of prison officials to bring the suspects to court.
“My lord, the responsibility of bringing the defendants to court lies squarely with the prison authorities.
“My lord, I will like to ask for adjournment and on the next adjourned date; I will make arrangement with the police to use their vehicle to convey them to court,” he said.
In his submission, counsel to the defendants, Mr Nureni Sulaiman, argued that the liberty of his clients was at stake.
He urged the court to ensure that the case was given accelerated hearing.
Justice Abdul Kafarati, after listening to both parties adjourned the case to Dec. 17 for hearing of a motion brought by the prosecution seeking for a secret trial of the suspects.
