Abuja LG charges small businesses N120,000 for Compulsory fumigation

Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has mandated business owners within the local government to pay compulsory N120,000 for disinfection of their facilities.

In a letter dated April 30, 2020, and addressed to Dixy Chicken, Wuse II, Abuja, Director of Administration, AMAC, Yahaya Ahmed Kana, said it is compulsory for all public and private offices within the area to be disinfected before they reopen.

According to him, the directive was in line with the guidelines for the gradual easing of the lockdown in the federal capital territory (FCT).

The letter reads, “With reference to Presidential directive to ease the lockdown order in Lagos, Ogun and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday, 4th May 2020, it has become necessary and in fact compulsory for all public and private offices within Abuja Municipal Area Council to decontaminate/disinfect before re-occupation.

“As a prelude to this, the council has engaged the services of a technical partner M/S Holmes Multi-media synergy Ltd that will urgently carry out the exercise at your own expense.

“While thanking you for the cooperation, kindly accept the assurance of the Hon. Chairman’s highest esteem regards.”
