African Development Magazine’s Conference Holds in Nairobi

The quest for continued integration of the African continent takes centre stage as African Development Magazine, the pioneer development focused media in Africa holds the 4th ADM International Conference on Development & Awards of Excellence at Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi on 20th of November, 2015.

The theme of the conference is “Unleashing the benefits of Regional Integration in East Africa”. This is in line with the focus of ADM in pushing for closer ties among African countries and Africans which will lead to the development of the continent. The Keynote address is titled “Assessing the Role of International Development Agencies in Fostering Regional Economic Cooperation in East Africa.’’ The lecture will be delivered by Mr. Gabriel Negatu, African development Bank [AFDB] Regional Director (East Africa).

The sub theme of the conference is focused on the untapped opportunities in the Aviation industry in Africa- “Africa Skies: An untapped, underutilized glaring opportunities”. The report will be presented by Dr. Richard Munang, UNEP Climate Change Coordinator for Africa.

African Development Magazine, according to the Editor Mohammed Abu, “is poised to drive development across the African regions by promoting informative discourse that will serve as catalyst for the rejuvenation of the African economy”.

Having held the last three editions of the international conference in Accra-Ghana between 2012 and 2014, amongst other events like the National Development Forum & The Dynamic Leadership Summit which took place respectively in Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria; the focus is predicated on expanding its frontiers to East Africa which is one of the most active regions in Africa today in terms of development and stability in governance.

ADM recognizes the importance of Kenya as the gateway to East Africa and the prominent role it plays within the ‘Africa rising’ narrative, thus making her the hub of commercial, technology and infrastructural strides in the region. Our role at ADM is to deepen that critical role and enlarge the coast for colossal progress.

The event will be bringing together the captains of industry, intellectuals & top technocrats in West Africa, East Africa & friends of development around the globe to a day of knowledge sharing and celebrations of excellence.
