Residents of Panama Street in the Maitama District of Abuja, on Thursday, November 1, 2018, reported another serious earth tremor.
According to government authorities, the tremor measured a magnitude of 3.0 which could pass as an earthquake.
The resident stated that the earth vibrated repeatedly for about half an hour, some lasting for up to one minutes in the afternoon.
The earth tremor that shook the area created panic among residents who ran out of their houses into the streets to avoid danger.
In response, the Director of Planning, Research and Forecasting, National Emergency Management Agency [NEMA], Mr. Vincent Owan visited the area of the tremor and confirmed the incident.
The development makes it the second time in about two months that earth tremor is being reported in Abuja environs which includes Maitama precincts.
