Alhaji Sule Audu, the lawmaker representing Agatu state constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, has on behalf of the people of the area, apologised to the Nigerian army over the recent murder of a soldier by some youths of the area.
continuing he said that the community will cooperate with relevant authorities to bring the perpetrators to book.
He promised that his people would continue to cooperate with the military and advised against any act or unsubstantiated comments that could aggravate the situation in the area. The lawmaker who spoke yesterday in Makurdi, condoled the military over the incident which he condemned describing it as unwarranted and unacceptable.
Audu thus deposed the saying that Agatu people has been razed by the military, saying, ”they went there in search of the culprits and their arms that were missing which were normal in the military, it is not that they went to raze the villages.
it should also be noted that in the recent past Agatu people has been having a running battle with the security personnels.
