Aguiyi Ironsi Jr. Dies In U.S Of Undisclosed Disease
Mr. John Nnanyerem Aguiyi Ironsi, son of Nigeria’s first Military Head of State, General Aguiyi Ironsi has died in the United States of America.
Mr. Nnanyerem Aguiyi Ironsi, aged 54, died of undisclosed illness.
He was Gen. Ironsi’s second son and last child in a family of eight children.
Born January 14, 1965, Ironsi attended Government College, Umuahia, and later, College of Arts and Science, Zaria, before furthering his education in the United States of America.
When he returned after education in the U.S., he joined politics and served as Special Adviser to two governors in Abia State, former governor Theodore Orji and the incumbent, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Late Nnanyerem Aguiyi Ironsi was married with a daughter.
His father, Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi was assassinated on 29th July, 1966, in the counter-coup of 1966, which saw the massacre of several senior Army officers.
