Akwa Ibom Commissioner—Archibong bags NUJ Award of Excellence

The Akwa Ibom State Honourable Commissioner of Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, has been conferred with an Award of Excellence by the State Council of the Federated Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The award was presented to the Commissioner on the occasion of the Federated Chapel’s 2021 Press Week Dinner and Award Night on Friday, 12th February, 2021, at the NUJ Press Centre, Information Drive, Uyo.
The theme was “Managing plastic waste/gas flaring for socio economic gains”.
Presenting the award, Principal Partner of Billionmen Production, Mr. Iboro Otu, who was a special Guest, said:
“This Award is in recognition of your meritorious service to Eket Local Government as the then Chairman of Council and service to the State as current Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs”.
The Commissioner, Mr. Frank Archibong, who was ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tommy Enodien.
Speaking after receiving the award, he pledged his commitment to the development of members of the Union.
He admonished them to be professionally conscious in their reportage, while urging them to channel their strength and wisdom to the development of the State for the best in the future.
He appreciated Comrade Amos Etuk’s led NUJ leadership and, Federated Chapel for maintaining ethical standard regulating journalism profession.
He commended the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for Industrializing the State.
