Amnesty International, a human rights advocacy group has raised alarm over the unlawful adoption of Imoleayo, who is said to be one of the strong voices that backed the #Endsars protests that greeted Nigeria in October 2020
According to a statement by Amnesty International, Mr Imoleayo was abducted from his home in the wee of the night. His family was watching while he was been whisked away by the security operatives.
Amnesty also said Imoleayo was interrogated fives times for over 41 days without having access to a legal representative.
However, the right group said Imoleayo has been charged with conspiracy to disturb public peace for speaking up during #Endsars
The statement read, “Imoleayo was taken from his house by officers in the middle of the night. His family watched him being taken away.
“In custody Imoleayo was interrogated five times over 41 days without access to a lawyer.
“Imoleayo was eventually charged with ‘conspiracy with others to disturb public peace’ for speaking up during the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.
“His story could be anyone’s story, we must speak up for him.”
