Organizers of the proposed 2016 Anambra state Trade Fair specially tagged “Jubilee Fair” have offered opportunity to multinational and upcoming companies in the country and overseas to showcase their products and services aimed at surviving the present economic recession in the country.
The Chairman of Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Chief Ndubisi Nwobu told newsmen in Awka on Thursday that the organizers were prepared for a purposeful fair taking place from November 25 to December 9, 2016.
He said that the business community had been sensitised both within and outside the state, with tremendous response.
According to him, “We are expecting majority of those who responded to take up stands and participate.”
He said that the organizers had been working on the project jointly with the state which adopted the fair as part of the activities marking the state’s 25 years of its creation. “The fair is a joint one comprising the three Chambers of Commerce in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi,’’ he stated.
According to him, both the state government and the organised private sector have synergized to showcase the economic potentials, capabilities and prowess of Anambra and their economic collaborators at the fair.
“It is our happiness that many new production techniques, research findings, industrial inventions and several newly developed cottage applications are to be exhibited at the fair.
“The fair is set to be an exchange for industry, research institutions and manpower training faculties towards balanced and sustainable development in Igbo land.
“This is an opportunity for Igbo traders to bring in their partners to perhaps afterwards set up a manufacturing outfit and rake equal profit,’’ Nwobu said.
The chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Nwachukwu said the fair was deemed the greatest in recent times South of Nigeria because it will attract participants from all over the globe.
He said that the President of African Export Bank, Dr. Ben Okey Oranu would deliver a key note address on the opening day.
Also the President of Onitsha Chamber, Mr. Uche Apakama said the fair was expected to showcase Anambra state’s spirit of investment, enterprise and cooperation.
That it would provide huge opportunity for business interactions with partners all over the world and create new corporate opportunities.
