Anambra APC Congratulates Bayelsa, Kogi Governors-Elect

Our dynamic chapter of great party wholeheartedly congratulates the Governor – Elect in last weekend’s polls in Bayelsa State Mr. David Lyon, on his well deserved victory which has come with all the trappings of a crown for hard work, careful planning and proper execution.

APC has waited seven years for this victory and its legacy parties much longer. It was victory foretold.

Hence nothing short of an unadulterated implementation of the APC manifestos which holds out the promise to develop Bayelsa State rapidly, given its challenges, will gain our support.

For us in Anambra APC, which governorship election comes next in two years time, our heroic party men and women in Bayelsa State are good forerunners who are already where we want to be, need to be and shall come to be.

It is a quantum inspiration.

We also congratulate the youthful Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello on his triumph in the hard- fought Kogi governorship contest, which none the less saw the incumbent win with a comfortable margin.

We acknowledge that he did not win because he did not make any mistakes in governance, but because the majority in his state considered that he remained the identifiable best alternative in the options provided and showed willingness for his second tenure to consolidate on successes and correct errors where made.

We trust that this new confidence reposed in him will motivate a superlative performance in the second tenure.

We regret that violence was reported in isolated areas of the state which unfortunately saw some Kogi State citizens lose their lives avoidably, made some injured and made others lose the chance to vote.

The incidents of violence reported in the Kogi State governorship and senatorial repeat election in Kogi West Senatorial Election is regrettable and avoidable.

We commiserate with the loved ones of those who lost their lives in the process as well as those who were injured and are happy that those who did not vote have another chance to do so where such makes a difference.

Our nation has a lot to learn from these two elections and the leasons are not lost on us.
