Anambra Central Senatorial Election: Appeal Court adjourns hearing to 4th July

Victor Umeh

The Appeal Court has just adjourned to Monday the 4th of July 2016 for hearing of Counter Application filed by the Council to Chief Victor Umeh OFR.

The Council to PDP Filed an Application attacking the leave granted to Chief Umeh to appeal the High Court Judgement that ordered INEC to include PDP in the Anambra Central re-run election. PDP in its application is requesting the Court to set aside the leave granted Chief Umeh since the 90 days INEC was expected to conduct the election have elapsed. But Council to Chief Umeh filed a Counter Application to that of PDP insisting that the Court should proceed in hearing the appeal.

Council to Chief Umeh also brought to the notice of the Judges of the Appeal Court that the people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone at present do not have a Senator at the National Assembly. He requested the Court to give the process of hearing due acceleration which the court agreed to.

The Court in giving the Council to PDP a benefit of doubt, however adjourned to Monday next week being the 4th of July for the Council of PDP to react to the process.

It is my sincere belief that when we return to the Court on Monday 4th July 2016, the will do the needful because the PDP through Mr. Peter Obi is only bent on saying that the Anambra Central Senatorial Election for Senate will not hold. Our God is Alive and there is no need for panic.

“Ndi Anambra Central be Calm and don’t Panic. Let us be patient with the Judiciary and remain prayerful. We shall get there in due time”…Chief Victor Umeh OFR OHAMADIKE NDIGBO.
