Anambra Guber: Like 2017, like 2021 for PDP ~ by Obunike Ohaegbu
Just like what happened in 2017 when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could couldn’t win even a LGA out of the 21 LGAs in Anambra State, no single individual can make PDP win in the 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Election and any thought of that should be perished immediately.
In 2017, PDP came third. If the same approach is maintained, PDP could be worse off as the Young Progressives Party (YPP) is trying to make the top 4th position despite the credibility questions of the face of the Party in Anambra State.
The current PDP tour of the LGAs in Anambra State is fantastic but would have been a lot more productive if more Stakeholders were involved.
Anambra PDP as today has at least four power blocks.
Efforts should have been made for all the blocks to be involved.
It is worrisome that the leadership of the other power blocks were not involved even in their LGAS.
It would have been a lot more productive venture if they were made to show face in their LGAs. No matter the number of cartons of Heros we share, these leaders have followers we cannot ignore.
I wouldn’t want this to be mistaken for veiled attacks on anyone but I am worried that no single individual can deliver PDP in Anambra State 2021 Elections irrespective of the past or present achievements of such individual.
Do I need to remind us that PDP is neither in control of power at the Centre nor at the State.
So, our greatest strength is in our unity. One man show is a recipe for disaster in the 2021 Anambra State Gubernatorial elections.
I was involved in 2017 and I have not recovered from the cost of one man showmanship.
I strongly suggest we make haste slowly.
