Anambra Police raid blackspots, hideouts, nab 29 suspects

The Anambra State Police command has stepped up it’s vigilance, response and alertness especially within these “ember” months, with series of raids on known black spots and criminal hideouts within and surrounding Obadiah in Idemili South council of Anambra State.
The operations was led by the Area Commander Oraifite Division -ACP Afolabi Wilfred Tokunbo in collaboration with the Command Special Anti-Cult unit(SPACS)PMF and vigilante group.
The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement following the successful raids.
According to SP Mohammed, twenty-nine (29) suspects were arrested and several exhibits were recovered in their possessions.
The recovered exhibits include one pump action rifle, two satchets suspected to be Indian hemp, one UTC axe, one military boot, 26 cartridges , one military helmet,13 cutlasses, two hammers , 13 assorted phones and cash sum of N45,000 only.
The statement disclosed that the suspects were already being screened and profiled .
Meanwhile, those found wanting would be charged to Court while the innocent ones would be freed unconditionally.
The PPRO noted that the Command will continue to pursue the hoodlums during and after the ember months until all the criminal elements refrain from criminal activities or relocate from the State.
