Anambra Polls: Soludo Goofs Again ~ by Comrade Uzo Jiagbogu
Following what passes as a careless statement credited to Soludo, in which the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria had boasted that he would win the Anambra State governorship election unchallenged as published by ElombahNews.
This, according to Prof. Soludo as reported, is because his rivals in the Anambra governorship race coming up on November 6, are “ small boys”.
If indeed true, then it means that the Professor of Economics may have forgotten that “knowledge about life is one thing; effective occupation of a place in life, with its dynamic currents passing through your being, is another.” — Williams James
Well, need I remind us that Prof. Soludo is not new at failing in elections. We have not forgotten that he failed woefully in the General election after emerging successfully as the PDP standard flag bearer in the Oct 9, 2009 primaries.
If truly other contenders are small boys, I wonder why, he chose to contest with small boys instead of play in the big league where maybe his mates are playing.
If truly Prof Soludo said those words, then he should be reminded that “our civilization is founded on the shambles, and every individual existence goes out in a lonely spasm of helpless agony. If you protest, my friend, wait till you arrive there yourself!” — Williams James
On this note, I call on our respected Economist and astute Professor, to desist from making such a carefree statement.
Better still, he should get a spokesman and allow him the needed space and independence to do his job professionally.
