APC Chair: Oshiomhole To Run Unopposed As Ebri Withdraws
Former governor of Edo State, Mr Adams Oshiomhole will now run unopposed as the All Progressives Congress [APC] chairman come the June 23 National Convention.
The development comes as one of the contenders, Mr. Clement Ebri has withdrawn his candidacy from the race barely 48 hours to the Convention.
Mr. Ebri announced his withdrawal in a letter addressed to the APC National Convention Committee chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru.
Citing reasons for his withdrawal, he stated that his decision follows consultations with friend, family, as well as party stakeholders.
He further stated that his decision is in the overall interest on the ruling party.
