An aspirant to the national chairmanship position of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Mr Ibrahim Emokpaire has withdrawn from the race, following what he termed wide consultations with political associates, family members and leaders of the Party across the nation.
According to him; “As a loyal party member, I decided to withdraw my nomination in order to unite our party and join forces with our amiable leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomohle, former Edo Governor, to move the party forward.”
With his withdrawal, the race is now left between the favorite, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and two others. The other two are however seen as figure heads planted in the race by the outgoing national Chairman of the Party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and his acolytes within the NWC.
The national convention of the Party is expected to hold on the 23rd of this month in Abuja.
