APGA Crisis Deepens As Party Stalwart Locks Executives Out Of Secretariat

By Eneh Victor Chigozie

It was a shameful disgrace yesterday, as APGA executives of Idemili north LGA were locked out of their LG party secretary at Ogidi. Chief Ifeanyi Udokwu ( Ekwueme ogidi) who was recently relieved of his position as APGA BOT member arrested Idemili North APGA party chairman, Chief Kentus Onwurah (Ichie Egbu) alongside some other party leaders and chased them out of the LG party office at Ogidi as they were about to inaugurate the new Executives of the party.

It was drama all through yesterday, June 24, 2019 at Idemili North when AIF media reporter sighted them at Ogidi police station at about 3:30pm.

Our reporter overheard Chief Ekwueme saying ” you can not reject me and be using my property as party office, I don’t want you people again in my property, and I don’t care because I am going to kill APGA in Idemili North, go and tell the Governor that I said that, because neither the governor nor the party built my property for me.”

Our reporter on ground at Ogidi gathered that the DPO Ogidi police station directed, upon the intervention of some stakeholders in Idemili north that the matter be taken home for resolution and report back to the police within weeks.

The party executives of Idemili north after being chased out of the party office proceeded to the LG secretariat where they met another resistance. At the LG secretariat Ogidi, the TC chairman locked them out again.

It is to our findings that both the TC chairman and Ekwueme Ogidi are having a run off battle with the LG party leadership over accusation of anti party activities during the 2019 general elections. They were accused of working against APGA during the election, but a source said that the TC chairman won his polling unit and ward for the party.

Having been locked out in both party office and LG secretariat, the inauguration of the new excos was carried out in front of the Idemili North local government premises.

We will keep you posted as we understand that more drama will still unfold in Idemili North as other party stakeholders are expressing their displeasure on the disgraceful event of yesterday.
