The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has expressed satisfaction with the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division in which it dismissed the appeal filed by Chief Edozie Njoku challenging the judgment of Justice C.C. Okaa of the Anambra State Judiciary, Awka Division.
In a press statement in Abuja signed by the National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Barrister Tex Okechukwu, the party said that with the latest judgment the Court of Appeal had put paid to the penchant by political merchants to engage in forum shopping, which according to it “has brought the image of the judiciary to odium”.
APGA commended the judiciary for its quick intervention in redeeming its reputation, urging it never to return to the “dark days”.
It thanked God for his mercy upon the party which enabled it to wade through the tempestuous waters of the nation’s politics and come out unscathed.
It could be recalled that the High Court of Awka presided over by His Lordship, Justice C.C. Okaa, had on July 19, 2021 affirmed Ozonkpu Dr. Victor Ike Oye as the National Chairman of APGA and Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo as its governorship candidate in the November 6, 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election.
