As INEC postpones Anambra rerun, can Obiano return to governance

Finally INEC postponed Anambra central senatorial election indefinitely as Peter Obi reported to have secured court order restraining INEC from not allowing him and his party (PDP) to run for the Senate Anambra Central.

You may recall that prior to this latest development , Chief Victor Umeh of APGA was almost going on opposed due to what many sees as moves in alliance with some INEC officials to stop major Political Parties and strong candidates from Contesting with Chief Victor Umeh.

Umeh who lost the April 2016 Senatorial election got appeal court to nullify the election even when many argue that Appeal Court panel murdered Justice in said judgement since latest development on Judiciary intervention on our electoral matters, shows that Chief Victor Umeh lacks locus standi to question the primary that produced the PDP candidate on last election since he was not even a PDP member. So bad that Appeal Court went on and nullified the election on the bases of nomination which a non-PDP member brought.

See Taraba State election case as it was resolved by Supreme Court.

Now, PDP is in Court for review of that very judgement. If the Appeal Court upturns herself on Thursday, then there will be no rerun election in Anambra State.

As it stand today, election that supposed to hold on 5th March 2016 (Saturday) has been postponed indefinitely by INEC.

It is of note that INEC had before now ruled PDP out of the race and also forbid APC from substituting their candidate for the election and thereby made Victor Umeh of APGA a sole candidate for the election that supposed to be on 5th March 2016 which INEC had now shifted indefinitely.

As it stands today, Umeh’s camp is the greatest loser in this current legal tsunami and INEC directives that shifted the election date indefinitely.

I told some friends three weeks ago that we are likely to witness legal Tsunami on our road to Anambra Central rerun and today, the predicted legal Tsunami is here with us .

It is reported that my state government has spent not less to ‪#‎3billion‬ so far on “Victor Umeh must go to Senate project” and just as Umeh was to see the senate ,legal tsunami thwart it. Fate!

Can my state government now return to governance since even fate is against Umeh candidacy.

It is not likely to fly. Stop investing in “Umeh go to Senate” and start investing on already abandoned “Anambra State must be developed project “.

Today, Anambra State govt has practically abandoned the government business for Victor Umeh campaign and one wonders.

On this note, I call on every right thinking voters to think again; Umeh candidacy will not fly .We can get better without his likes. Let’s go get it right.
