Atiku Abubakar blasts Buhari over arrest of Sowore
Former Vice President and the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] candidate in the February 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has blasted the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government over the arrest of the Publisher of Sahara Reporters and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore.
ElombahNews had earlier reported that men of the Department of State Security Service [DSS] have arrested Mr. Sowore.
This medium learned that the heavily mobilized men of the DSS invaded his hotel apartment in Ikeja and taken him to their office at CMD road, Magodo, as at the time of filing this report.
Sowore’s arrest is about 48 hours into the commencement of a planned revolutionary showdown on August 5th, 2019 across the country.
Reacting to his arrest on his verified Twitter handle, Atiku Abubakar warned federal government against violating the rights of Sowore on freedom of speech.
He wrote: “Freedom of speech is not only constitutionally guaranteed, it is the substructure of our democracy. These kidnappings in the guise of arrests stands condemned.”
