A former Vice President of Nigeria and businessman, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has lauded the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over what he termed a ‘successful conclusion of North-central election’.
The election saw some zonal executive party officials voted in on Saturday with Theophilus Shan emerging as Chairman.
Applauding the exercise on his Twitter handle @atiku, Alhaji Abubakar said:
“Sure-footedly, the @OfficialPDPNig is putting its house in order for the challenges ahead.
“The successful conclusion of its North-central zonal election that saw Theophilus Shan’s emergence as Chairman and others lends credence to this.
“Congratulations to the new zonal executive and the stakeholders for a job well done,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, some irate thugs disrupted the North-West PDP congress which held at Kaduna International Trade Fairground on Saturday.
The thugs stormed the venue and disrupted the Congress, though its still not clear what caused the chaotic situation.
An observer informed ElombahNews that a politician brought in the thugs after his candidate lost out in the election.
The major contenders for the position of National Vice Chairman Northwest are Sen. Bello Hayatudeen Gwarzo, Aminu Wali and a candidate of former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The source noted that the thugs foresaw the possibility of their leader losing out and became aggressive and disrupted the congress.
