Ban on open grazing: Malami’s statement shows this regime is behind killer herdsmen ~ Omokri

By Kalu Nwokoro Idika

Former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri says the statement credited to the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami that the banning of open grazing by the southern governors can be equated to banning of spare parts in the north is a testament that President Muhammadu Buhari led administration is behind killer herdsmen

Reno Omokri in a statement said if Northern states can ban alcohol sales and pig farming, and even go as far as destroying hotels and other businesses owned by other Nigerians for the alleged violations of these bans, then Southern states can ban open grazing.

The fiery US based pastor also said If some Nigerian cannot be allowed to do open grazing of pigs in the North, that means local and foreign herdsmen cannot do open grazing of their cows in the South.

He said, “The comment by General Muhammadu Buhari’s Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malalmi, that banning open grazing is like banning spare parts trading, shows that this regime is fully behind killer herdsmen.

“If Northern states can ban alcohol sales and pig farming, and even go as far as demolishing hotels and other businesses owned by their fellow Nigerians for the alleged violations of these bans, then Southern states can ban open grazing.

“If a Nigerian cannot do open grazing of pigs in the North, then local and foreign herdsmen cannot do open grazing of cows in the South. You should not condemn one without condemning the other, except you are saying that Southerners are second class citizens!”

However, mixed reactions have continued to trail the statement of attorney general of the federation for equating the banning of open grazing by the southern governors to the ban of spare parts businesses in the north which is mostly done by Nigerians from the southern region.
