Another fuel-laden tanker exploded and caught fire on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Friday.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at KM 30 of the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway around Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps [FRSC] confirmed the incident but said that the fuel tanker fire has been brought under control and normalcy returned to the scene.
In a statement signed by the Public Education Officer (Ogun Command), Ms. Florence Okpe, FRSC involved two vehicles and seven persons.
Fortunately, Only one person was injured and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The statement revealed that the cause of the accident is suspected to be excessive speed, which led to a loss of control.
“The Fire Service were invited and they extinguished the fire. The crash scene has been cleared and traffic restored on the Expressway.
“The injured victim was rescued to Famobis Hospital Lotto, near Mowe, Ogun State,” the statement said
