Breaking: Appeal Court Upholds Ihedioha As Imo PDP Guber Candidate
The Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri on Sunday, upheld the emergence of Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the authentic candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in the 2019 Imo State gubernatorial election.
The suit was filed by Senator Sam Anyanwu who is challenging the emergence of Ihedioha as the rightful candidate.
Anyanwu had asked the Court seeking to nullify the victory of Ihedioha and declared him the authentic winner of the primary election.
According to him, Ihedioha was engaged in electoral malpractices including over-voting and thuggery.
The presiding judge, Justice Raphael Chikwe Agbo, while delivering judgement on Sunday, held that the plaintiff did not convince the court on the allegations.
He said from the allegations of Anyanwu, the Court could not establish the fact in his claims and
Justice Agbo, therefore, dismissed the suit for want of evidence.
It could be recalled that Ihedioha had scored 1723 during the primary election held on October 1, 2018, to defeat Sam Anyanwu who scored 1282.
