BREAKING: Army Panel Seeks Sanctions For 5 Officer Over Taraba Killing
The Board of Inquiry set up by the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, has recommended sanctions for five personnel of the Nigerian Army and the police over the killing of three policemen and one civilian in Ibi, Taraba State, on August 6.
The panel was instituted at the behest of President Muhammadu Buhari following the killing.
The board disclosed this in a statement released by the Defence Headquarters on Tuesday in Abuja.
The affected officers to face disciplinary sanctions are:
- Captain Tijani Balarabe,
- Sergeant Ibrahim Mohammed,
- Corporal Bartholomew Obanye of the Ibi Police Division,
- Assistant Superintendent of Police, Aondoona Iorbee, and,
- Inspector Aliyu Dadje.
Recommended for further investigation by the panel is the Taraba Kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Bala for gun running.
The panel said the affected officers must be taken through “necessary disciplinary measures.”
