BREAKING: Bayelsa Govt Seeks Postponement Of Nov 2 Election

The Bayelsa State Government has requested the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to postpone the state governorship election slated for November 2, 2019.

The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (retd), made the request on Tuesday when he led Bayelsa stakeholders on a courtesy visit to INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in Abuja.

Explaining reasons for the demand, Jonah said that the day clashes with the state’s yearly thanksgiving service established according to the law of the state.

On his part, the INEC chairman assured his visitors that the Commission will consider their request and revert to them.
