President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled the Federal Executive Council [FEC] Meeting scheduled to hold at the Council Chambers in Abuja on Wednesday.
News of the cancellation was broken by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Tuesday.
Alhaji Mohammed said this in a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday.
The Minister said the two-day public holidays declared for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations left little or no time to prepare for the weekly meeting.
He stressed that the weekly FEC meeting will not hold tomorrow and that this is official.
The meeting last week saw the approval of the Mambilla hydro project which will gulp a whopping $5.79 billion.
The Federal Government announced that the project will be handled by a consortium of Chinese companies.
Reacting to the development, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, expressing surprise and disgust wrote on his Twitter handle: “Federal Executive Council meeting cancelled for tomorrow? Here we go again…”
